The TBUFC Council board members research, coordinate
and manage a variety of projects throughout
the year, ranging from educational seminars
and speakers' forums, to coordination of
volunteer efforts and tree plantings, either
individually or as a joint effort with
other non-profit organizations. The board
meets monthly. The board's voice to the
public is the monthly newsletter the Trinity
Blacklands Urban Forestry News and this
web site.
As an example, the Texas Tree Trails project is a major TBUFC collaborative effort in partnership with the
Cross Timbers Urban Forestry Council, the Dallas Historic Tree Coalition and the Texas Forest Service to research, catalog and assess preservation strategies for champion and historic trees
regionally and eventually state-wide. See the
Texas Tree Trails web site for more information.
