The Cross Timbers Urban Forestry Council (CTUFC) is a Non-Profit 501c3 organization that has been structured to operate exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. The Cross Timbers Urban Forestry Council covers and serves 17 counties in North Texas which are located North, South and West of Tarrant County. These counties are Tarrant, Denton, Cooke, Montague, Clay, Wichita, Archer, Young, Stephens, Palo Pinto, Erath, Somervell, Hood, Parker, Jack, Wise and Johnson counties.
Purpose
The corporation has been organized to operate exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. It’s main focus and purposes are to:

Promote interest and public awareness of tree planting efforts in the Cross Timbers Region. The CTUFC will record, coordinate, support and encourage tree planting efforts.

Stimulate and encourage private businesspersons and governmental entities to take an active role in tree planting and conservation.

Promote conservation of current trees and wooded areas, through education and other efforts among groups and individuals.
Members
Both individuals and group representatives may become members of the Cross Timbers Urban Forestry Council. The only qualification to join is to share the purpose of the CTUFC. All individuals and group representatives enrolled will be voting members by payment of their dues.
Officers and Board of Directors
The officers of the CTUFC or made up of the President, Vice President, Secretary / Treasurer, Editor and Past President. The Board of Directors consists of officers of the organization. The Officers serve one-year terms and the Board of Directors serve a term of two years and they are all elected by the membership at the annual meeting. (The current presiding Officers and Board of Directors are available on request.)
Meetings
There are at least four regular meetings of the Board of Directors annually. There are often additional meetings conducted in conjunction with the Trinity Blacklands Urban Forestry Council to discuss the schedule for the Cross Timbers Urban Forestry Council and Trinity Blacklands Urban Forestry Council North Texas Tree Conference, held each year in February. Participating members are welcome and encouraged to attend any meetings scheduled and may choose to run for nomination as an Officer or to serve on the Board of Directors.
