The Trinity Blacklands Urban Forestry Council is an organization formed to address the increasing urban forestry needs for the eight county region surrounding Dallas, Texas.

Tree Appraisal - Theory and Practice
May 13-14, 2009 in Georgetown
This is the first of a series of advanced arborist workshops, The Master Series, designed to help prepare Certified Arborists to become Board Certified Master Arborists. Our instructor is Scott Cullen who helped write and edit the 9th Edition of the Guide for Plant Appraisal. Scott has been involved in the tree care industry since 1971 and is currently a registered consulting arborist based in the metropolitan New York area.

Urban Forestry Projects in the Climate Action Reserve

The Climate Action Reserve has recently released a ground-breaking new protocol for calculating the carbon reductions from urban forestry.

ID and Management of Oak Wilt in Texas
June 10-11, 2009 Austin
The Texas Forest Service (TFS), in a partnership with ISAT, is hosting a workshop for Certified Arborists on how to identify and manage oak wilt.

Each participant that successfully completes the training will be awarded a Certificate of Training Completion. This training will be noted on the www.texasoakwilt.org website as well as on any handouts and other material referencing qualified individuals.

Come to Austin and see if you have what it takes to be the next Texas Tree Climbing Champion and represent the Texas Chapter at the International Tree Climbing Championship in St. Louis this July.

Register for 2009 TTCC and the Aerial Rescue Workshop on Thursday! Pre-Competition AERIAL RESCUE Workshop Participation will qualify attendees for the aerial rescue test portion of the Certified Tree Worker exam, and also offer competition contestants an opportunity to hone their rescue skills with hands-on sessions following classroom presentations.
